How to understand and know exactly what a Parkinson’s Sufferer is going through. Specialist neurological Doctor reveals the most effective ways to help

Dear Friend,

Having a parent or loved one diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease is a terrible shock. Once the devastating blow has been diagnosed, that’s when your need to know more about this debilitating disease and how the Parkinson's treatment will affect your loved one.

I was in that situation. And I discovered helpful facts from a leading specialist Parkinson's Doctor which I didn't discover anywhere else. But I'll tell you more about this in a moment...

Right now you probably have many questions (and fears) about what the future holds for your loved one – as well as for yourself.

You see, seeing a loved one – an elderly parent or relative - slowly succumb to the disease is a truly awful thing to have happen.

From the first slight tremors to the full blown uncontrollable shaking as the disease takes over, a Parkinson’s sufferer’s quality of life starts to deteriorate. Normal everyday things they took for granted become immensely difficult.

You feel so helpless. Not knowing what to do. Or how to help.

Yet you want to help them, to make their life more comfortable, more bearable. To lead a life as normal as possible. And have a good quality of life for as long as possible.

However, it’s only by knowing more about the Parkinsons's treatment and the effects of the disease you can actually...

Improve Your Loved Ones Quality Of Life

You begin to understand the daily torment the sufferer is going through to help them when they need help the most.

You’re able to almost ‘second guess’ a sufferer’s wants and actions because you know their ‘Parkinson’s’ mind – almost better than they do.

And more importantly what you can do to help them with their condition. To improve their life. Make life more bearable. And give them the understanding and care they deserve.

You see my mom had Parkinson’s.

At first I felt overwhelmed when it was confirmed she had Parkinson’s. I mean how could my mom who’d been fit and active all her life get this disease? How would she cope with Parkinsons and the Parkinson's treatment? How would I help her to cope? I had loads of questions I needed answering.

In fact, it was terrifying for mom being diagnosed.  And for the rest of us facing up to it. And it was scary to me to have to face up to the fact my mom was mortal. I was lost in a sea of emotions. I couldn’t get mom’s Parkinson’s out of my mind. For days I couldn’t think straight. My mind was in torment.

In fact, I think I went into denial that this could possibly be happening to my mom. Parkinson’s affected other people. Not my mom. After all this was the lady who used to be a professional seamstress. The woman who could sow perfectly. Give her a thread and a needle and she’s sow intricate patterns all day long.

I’ll never forget the first time I noticed the first obvious signs something wasn’t quite right. That she had the beginnings of this debilitating disease.

We were all sat round the dinner table one Sunday evening. A family gathering we so often did. You see, she lived quite close once my dad had passed on. Anyway for some reason – can’t remember what – I caught myself staring at her plate of food. We were eating Chinese that night. Sweet and Sour Pork with a plateful of rice. It was a particular favorite of moms.

I can still see her now. As usual she was eating her food with a relish. BUT I noticed every time she took a forkful of rice a lot of it would fall off due to her hand shaking.

So I cracked a joke “You’ve been hitting the bottle too hard mom. You’ve got the shakes.” She jokingly replied, “Yeah I’m must ease up.” After all, she did like a glass or two of her favorite wine in the evening.

Little did we all realize at the time this was the beginning of long downward spiral in my mom’s health.

Thinking back there was the time as a family we were all in the garden throwing a ball around and playing with our dog. Mom walked over to join us…and…fell flat on her face.

She just went SMACK.

And hit the deck. Like a felled tree right before our very eyes. One minute she’s walking perfectly…the next…we feared the worse.

We rushed over to help her back on her feet. She was shaken and a bit dazed… there was no broken bones - thank god. Of course it was the Parkinson’s gait which caused her fall.

Then there was the time mom couldn’t walk through a doorway. She walked to the door…and…that was it. She’d become ‘stuck. Frozen to the spot. She couldn’t walk any further.

It was only after a few minutes that I realized something was wrong. And rushed over. She said her legs wouldn’t move. So I took her by the arm and guided her to where she wanted to go.

Of course, looking back now, I recognize these were the classic signs of Parkinson’s Disease.

That’s because, I discovered exactly what my mom was experiencing with her Parkinson’s. And exactly what she was going through. Just as you can understand what your loved one is going through.

You see being able to understand the disease allowed me to help her when she needed help the most. So my mom had as good a quality of life for as long as possible.

Why You Can Know As Much

About Parkinson's As Doctors Do

I discovered a solution which reassured me. Gave me the solid advice and encouragement which I’m convince gave my mom a better quality of life. And I’m convinced can help you with helping a loved one. And you can also discover how to help a loved one have a decent quality of life with Parkinson’s disease.

You see a leading Parkinson’s Disease specialist wrote an amazing book,

titled 'Hope and Help In Parkinson’s Disease’ in which he gives hope and practical help to Parkinson’s sufferers.

The book contains the accumulated

experience of 14 years of private neurological practice. Plus 50,000 miles across the US and abroad for the sole purpose to discover what more can be done about Parkinson’s disease.

The author, Dr John C Button Jr, is a Former Resident Staff Physician, Still-Hildreth Sanatorium for Nervous and Mental Diseases, Neurologist, Elizabeth (N.J.) Memorial Hospital, Director of the Button Neurological Institute and Member of the American College of Neuro-Psychiatrists.

Inside he reveals the most effective methods ever developed to help a Parkinson’s Disease sufferer.

When I first came across this book I wondered if it would be the same regurgitated stuff I’d seen elsewhere online and in other books. You know, another doctor with an eye on becoming a celebrity. Trying to make some more quick cash on his theories about Parkinson’s…and…see his name in print.

But nothing could be further from the truth.

It turns out my fears were groundless. There was a load of practical helpful ideas and insights in finding the right Parkinson's treatment. I was able to take the down to earth, practical advice to help my mom in her twilight years.

In fact here’s just a taste of what Dr Button has included….

  • Why some Parkinson’s sufferers are often restless in the daytime and more so at night. And how to lessen their distress. Page 5
  • Bowel difficulties and indigestion? Discover three factors causing these. Page 5.
  • Chronically weak and losing strength? Here’s why. Page 6.
  • Why it’s a huge advantage being ambidextrous in the early stages of Parkinson’s. Page 6.
  • Why training and relying on your unaffected limbs to compensate for your affected limbs is (well intentioned) but sadly a waste of time. Page 8.
  • Why…

…Sufferers With Few Symptoms Can Be

Suffering More Acutely…Than…Fellow

Victims Who Shake Violently

This sounds a bit strange at first. But when you turn to page 9 you’ll discover exactly why this is. And the type of personality who actually feel calm within themselves.

And that’s not all. You also discover…

  • The exact mental torment a sufferer goes through as their Parkinson’s slowly develops. Knowing this allows you to help a sufferer the most. Page 8.
  • Why sufferer’s become rooted to the spot and become prone to falling over like a log …yet…will walk perfectly the following day. Page 10.
  • Which common street objects sufferers need to target (they help immensely) when walking along the pavement. Page 11.
  • What an army general does which helps sufferers to move around more confidently and freely. Page 12.
  • How spending time in a bar can help you understand a Parkinson’s sufferer better. Page 13.
  • Rolling eyes? Is the sufferer having a fit…or…is there no need to panic?

When you see this happening your natural inclination is to phone for the doctor. And quite right too. After all you don’t know what’s happening.

But is this something you don’t have to get too worried about? A normal run of the mill, everyday Parkinson’s sufferers are prone to? You’ll discover everything about this specific Parkinson’s symptom on Page 13.

And there’s more. Such as…

  • Four factors which influence the intensity of Parkinson’s Disease by the hour. Page 17.
  • One little known technique to ease the trembling (almost instantly) in one limb. Page 120.
  • How to achieve almost ‘miracle improvements’ by controlling the disease. Page18.

One Relatively Successful Poisonous

Treatment For Parkinson’s…

…Sounds crazy doesn’t it?

A poisonous treatment for Parkinson’s. Yet this Parkinson's treatment used to be the standard treatment for Parkinson’s years ago. And being treated helped many sufferers. Could it help your loved one? Well you’ll find the answer to this on Page 33.

Also you’ll discover…

  • One little known natural substance which when used as an ointment induces relaxation and improves blood flow. This helps sufferers immeasurably.

In Parkinson’s the blood circulation is always impaired in the section of the brain which is responsible for the symptoms of rigidity and tremor. So it’s only logical to try and increase the flow of blood around this area. Taking this little known substance could make a huge difference in a sufferer’s life.

You’ll discover what it is on page 34.

And then there’s…

  • The best (and easiest) place for a Parkinson’s sufferer to dress…and…it’s not your bedroom. Page 77.
  • How an ordinary hay fever remedy can relax tense muscles and strengthen trembling nerves. Page 37.

…And what to do to combat this. Page 68.

  • 11 specific muscle exercises for Parkinson’s sufferers which put them through their greatest possible range of motion. Page 69.

  • Three ways to overcome the psychologically damaging Parkinson’s ‘Stare.’ Page 72.
  • The most suitable type of climate for a sufferer to live…and it’s not necessarily a dry one. Page 76.
  • Five types of garment you should avoid wearing like the plague…and…

…Why Combat Trousers

Should Always Be Worn…

…And…if you don’t favor combat trousers consider a certain type of fisherman’s clothing. Either one will serve the same purpose. Turn to page 77 immediately to discover why.

Also discover…

  • One simple trick to do beforehand which allows a sufferer rooted to their chair, to spring out every time. Page 79.
  • Find yourself ‘Frozen’ to the spot? One simple move to overcome this using your legs. Works every time!

This is just one little trick a sufferer can use a

dozen times a day to keep their independence

and mobility. And you’ll discover it when

you instantly go to page 79.

Plus…There’s…

  • One little known taboo (yet excellent) non-pharmaceutical medicine which helps relax muscles. Page 88.
  • Sexual activity? Does it aggravate Parkinson’s or is it good for the sufferer? And is it safe to raise a family? The startling facts revealed. Page 89.
  • Revealed…14 common Questions and Answers about Parkinson’s. Page 100.
  • WARNING…Why you should never ever let a sufferer exercise alone. Page 120.
  • At what time of day a sufferer is most violently agitated and why. Page 121.
  • Drooling? Taking longer to eat? Here’s why. Page 121.
  • What you should look for when walking which is a giveaway sign of Parkinson’s in the early stages. Page 119.
  • The symptoms of the final stages of Parkinson’s. Page 122.
  • Why Parkinson’s sufferers run rather than walk regardless whether they want to or not. Page 129.
  • And much, MUCH more.

But that’s not all…

The author also reveals how a patient feels during the onset of Parkinson’s.…

At first the average patient’s attitude is that - ”This can’t happen to me.” The quivering, the slight stiffness, the almost imperceptible sluggishness of voluntary motion in the affected apart is put down to fatigue by the optimistic victim.

Or perhaps to some indiscretion, dietary or otherwise. “It’ll be alright tomorrow,” the patient assures himself.

They might be alright tomorrow. So gradual are the inroads of the disorder that “bad” days are generously interspersed with “good” ones.

But sooner or later the day after tomorrow arrives. The quivering, the stiffness, perhaps an annoying and painful cramping of the muscles return and perhaps linger with a little more persistence. The patient thinks back. “Was I out too late last night?”

They weren't. They then thinks, “Oh, it must have been the over exertion the day before.” As they rationalizes their thinking, the panic disappears and they become happier.

Little do they know this type of day is probably the first of a long series to come.

As Dr Button goes on to say. It’s not the purpose of his book to give testimonials “proving” that Parkinson’s Disease can be helped. It’s primarily to describe the condition and what a sufferer undergoes once the disease has been diagnosed.

However it would be remiss of him not to talk about the case histories which have been helped by some of the methods mentioned in the pages. Such as…

  • The world famous painter and teacher of art in one of New York’s most renowned schools lost the ability to hold a brush because of Parkinson’s. After three years of discouragement and despair he underwent treatment. Within a few weeks he was able to draw and paint again.
  • Clarence B was employed in a glass factory. His job was to cut glass to size and load trucks. At the age of 45 his right hand began to stiffen and to tremble. His symptoms worsened. Various specialists told him he had Parkinson’s. And he stopped working. However as a result of some treatment he was restored to his original job.
  • A man of 38 had had Parkinson’s since the age of 20. And had never worked because of the violent tremble he had. After a few months of treatment he was able to get a job and restore his self-respect.

Here’s the thing. You’ll benefit from reading this book in a number of ways.

Firstly you’ll have a far deeper understand of Parkinson’s Disease and the best Parkinson's treatment. You’ll know exactly what to expect as the disease progresses. What you can do to make your loved one's life more comfortable. How to reduce their discomfort.

You’ll also learn what a sufferer is experiencing emotionally so you can comfort and give them the support when they need it the most.

Secondly you can offer practical help and advice in day-to-day situations when a sufferer might find themselves most challenged. Situations healthy people don’t think twice about. But because you understand what a sufferer is going through you can help them when and where they need help the most. Without them feeling their independence is being threatened.

And as the disease changes course you know what to expect. And can plan accordingly.

If your elderly parent or relative is a Parkinson's sufferer you’ll know the best ways to support them. Look just, one tip - could ease their suffering, make their life a whole lot easier and erase any guilt feelings you may have as to whether you’ve done your best for them.

Yet this book is one of the very few written by a doctor specializing in neurological who made Parkinson’s Disease his life study.

After all you go and see all these ‘fat cat’ Parkinson’s doctors. And what do you get?

Well after waiting weeks and weeks for an appointment for your parent or loved one - you finally get seen and are fobbed off with some pills. And you’re told to come back in three months time. It’s like your loved one is being used as a laboratory rat to have on-going research into Parkinson’s.
